MEC Albert Fritz leads ‘Day Zero’ campaign with NGOs and elderly residents to Theewaterskloof Dam, 1 Mar

The Western Cape MEC of Social Development will lead a delegation of managers from registered NGO-run Old Age Homes and elderly residents, to view the extent of the effects of the drought on our dams.

The group of 65 will join the MEC at the Theewaterskloof dam, to view the extent of the ongoing drought on our dams.

The purpose of the trip is to raise awareness amongst our NGO-partners and managers of residential facilities, about the need to continue be water-wise and reduce our usage of water.

This trip will also raise awareness amongst the elderly and vulnerable segments of our society, and dispel myths and rumours about ‘Day Zero’ being a hoax.

There will be opportunities for interviews and photographs. Please contact me to secure space on the bus.

Date: 1 March 2018 (Thursday)
Time: 9:00am bus leaves for Theewaterskloof, expected arrival at 11:00am.
Venue: Theewaterskloof Dam, Theewaterskloof
