MEC Alan Winde visits Stellenbosch Winery using Rooibos and Honeybush in winemaking, 24 Feb

Alan Winde, MEC of Economic Opportunities, will celebrate the world-first innovation hailing from the forward-thinking Western Cape winery using Rooibos and Honeybush to produce preservative-free wine, beer and cider.

On Tuesday (24 February 2015), MEC Winde will visit Audacia Wines, in Stellenbosch, the home of the patented wine-making process.

The ground-breaking method, with a distinctly South African flavour profile, presents opportunities to grow the local Rooibos and Honeybush industries.

Scientists, entrepreneurs and representatives from major alcohol companies, the University of Stellenbosch and the Agricultural Research Council will attend the event.

Media will have the opportunity to sample products, interview producers and learn more about new innovations and product releases.
