Executive Council meets the people of Boqa, Greater Letaba Municipality
The Limpopo Provincial Government Executive Council (EXCO) is scheduled to meet the communities of Boqa Village at Greater Letaba Municipality in Mopani District. The Executive Council has during its seating on the 13th July 2018 approved the hosting of two EXCO Izimbizo in a month. This is done to intensify the programme and ensure that it reach as many communities as possible. The Imbizo is designed to strengthen communication between the Provincial Government and the people.
Members of the Executive Council (MECs) will meet the people of Boqa and the surrounding villages. The EXCO Imbizo Programme ensures that the voice of the people are made a priority, as the programme has been tailored in a way that people voice concerns and the government listens in order to give constructive feedback on issues affecting the community.
The Office of the Premier’s Provincial Communication Services conducted a research at Ward 25 of Greater Letaba Municipality under Mopani District Municipality. The Ward consists of the following villages: Boqa, Abel, Mothele and Taulume. This research was conducted in these villages in preparation for the EXCO Imbizo to be held on 13 July 2018. The research focuses on service delivery challenges confronting the residents of Boqa village and its surroundings within the jurisdiction of Prince Mpapatla Modjadji.
The main concerns found were in the following departments;
Education: - Sanitary issues at schools,
Health:- Building a clinic closer to the people of the surrounding communities,
Public Works, Roads and Infrastructure: - Tarring of gravel road between Mokgwathi village and Dzumeri village and Lekgwareng village to Koranta village,
CoGHSTA:- Appointment of traditional leadership in Boqa Village,
Those are some of the preliminary findings and other issues will be presented by various stakeholders at the EXCO Imbizo. Various MECs will address issues raised that affect their portfolios. Executive Mayor of Mopani, Cllr Nkakareng Rakgoale and Mayor of Letaba, Cllr Matome Matlou will also be in attendance to respond to municipal issues.
