Limpopo Office of the Premier host Men’s dialogue

The month of June has been declared Men's mental health awareness month while 17 June is dedicated as father’s day. As a result Employee Health and Wellness in the Office of the Premier has arranged Men's dialogue to be held on 21 - 22 June 2018, Tzaneen Country Lodge, Mopani District.

The purpose of the dialogue is to create a platform for men to communicate on issues affecting their mental health, and also to present to them life skills programme that will encourage, motivate and make them to be reliable, supportive, independent employees and responsible fathers and spouses to their families.

The programme is also meant to encourage men to take care of their health status. They will also be partaking on a physical fitness programme, health screening for communicable and non-communicable diseases. Physical exercise is important to mental and psychological well-being hence the saying a healthy mind in a healthy body is of beneficial in the organisation.

Amongst the topics to be presented are HIV/AIDS, Substance and Drug abuse, Cancer awareness, Financial and Credit Management, presentation by Government Employee Pension Fund (GEPF) on nomination of beneficiaries as well as promotion of fitness and productivity. This programme aims to encourage man not to bottle or keep their challenges to themselves. It allows them to open and talk about their challenges to ensure that we have happy families and the work force that is geared to address challenges that are presented in their lives.  As a Province we believe that the well-being of men is pivotal to children, society and the nation.
