KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) Government launches Inkululeko Development Project at Ndumo

The Cabinet of KwaZulu-Natal (KNZ), led by Premier Senzo Mchunu, is going to launch Inkululeko Development Project at Ndumo on Saturday, 30 November 2013. This first of its kind multi-billion rand project is an integrated multi-purpose and multi-sectorial project which will see the lives of the people of Ndumo changing - never to be the same again.

The Inkululeko Development Project is going to address community challenges in a very innovative and robust approach which includes the provision of high quality education centres, high quality health services, modern roads, modern libraries, clean running water, sustainable livelihoods, job creation as well as community centres for vulnerable children and orphans.

At the commencement of the project, the Department of Education was chosen as a coordinating department while the Department of Public Works was identified as an implementing/project management department.

Under the Inkuleleko Development Project, the Department of Education has a number of projects, including the rebuilding of St Phillips Primary School, Maphindela Primary School, Thelemama Primary School and a new Model School which is yet to be named. All this is in keeping with Government’s resolve to improve the lives of the people residing in rural areas.

Members of the media are invited to join the Premier together with all the MECs and chronicle this historical KZN Government Project for the People of Ndumo. The launch is going to start at 08h30 at Ndumo (Umkhanyakude District).
