Minister of the Department for Women, children and People with Disabilities, Lulu Xingwana will participate in the Eastern Cape provincial summit of the International Day for Older persons.
She will be joined by the MEC for Social development, Pemmy Majodina and the Executive Mayor of the Alfred Nzo District Municipality, Chapter 9 Institutions-CGE, Human Rights Commission, House of traditional Leaders, government departments and so forth.
The Eastern Cape Department of Social Development will launch the older persons policy of the province. An interactive session and dialogue with older persons community has been arranged and the Minister for women, children and People with disabilities.
The Eastern Cape provinces theme for the summit is “The Future we want..., What Older persons are saying”. The Summit will address the health, Social security, Housing, the Protection of Older Persons and Gender Based Violence.
