Human Settlements Deputy Minister Zou Kota-Fredericks visits Nyanga Township

The Deputy Minister of Human Settlements Zou Kota-Fredericks together with National Home Builder Registration Council (NHRBC) will be changing the life of Agnes Dyidi by building her a quality home.

Agnes is an elderly woman who lives in Nyanga East with her five year old grandchild and has been bedridden in her dilapidated home for 10 years due to extreme obesity causing her to lose her mobility.

October is World Habitat month which is celebrated annually every first Monday of October to highlight the need for adequate shelter that billions around the world still struggle with.

This year’s World Habitat theme is “Urban Mobility” and South Africa is one of the countries the UN World Habitat looks at as a growing progressive country as the governments strive to facilitate the creation of sustainable Human Settlements and improved quality of household life for the people.
