Gross Domestic Product (GDP) Quarter 2, 2014

The Statistician General, Pali Lehohla, will release the results of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), 2nd Quarter 2014. The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) which is the total value of goods and services that are produced in an economy in a certain time period is released by Stats SA every quarter.

The second quarter GDP figures will follow a negative growth in the first quarter of 2014, in which the real gross domestic product at market prices decreased by 0,6 per cent quarter-on-quarter, seasonally adjusted and annualised. A recession is marked by two consecutive quarters of negative growth in the economy.
