The Gauteng Provincial Legislature (GPL) led by the Hon. Lindiwe Maseko, will be launching the South African Legislative Sector Oversight Model at a special House Sitting where the various Committees of the House will present their Oversight Reports on government departments’ performance.
The following House Committees will give Oversight Reports done on their Departments using the Sector Oversight Model (SOM):
- Community Safety Portfolio Committee: Nyaope Campaign Report.
- Education Portfolio Committee: Bua Le sechaba Report.
- Sport, Recreation & Arts Portfolio Committee: Bua le sechaba Report.
- COGTA and Human Settlement Committee: 4th Quarterly Report on COGTA and Human Settlement Department’s 2012/2013 financial year.
- Health Portfolio Committee: FIS report on Folateng Private Wards.
- Education Portfolio Committee: 4th Quarterly Report on Department of Health’s 2012/2013 financial year.
- Community Safety Portfolio Committee: 4th Quarterly Report on Department of Community Safety’s 2012/13 financial year.
- Roads and Transport Portfolio Committee: 4th Quarterly Report on Department of Roads & Transport’s 2012/13 financial year; 4th Quarterly report on the Gautrain Management Agency for 2012/2013 financial year; and 4th Quarterly report of the g-Fleet Management Agency for 2012/13 financial year.
- Social Development Portfolio Committee: 4th Quarterly Report on Department of Social Development 2012/13.
- Sport, Recreation, Arts, and Culture Portfolio Committee: 4th Quarterly Report on Department Sport, Recreation, Arts, and Culture’s 2012/13 financial year.
- Health Portfolio Committee: 4th Quarterly Report on Department of Health’s 2012/13 financial year.
The House Sitting will precede the road-show to launch the Sector Oversight Model (SOM), taking place at the GPL Auditorium in the afternoon. GPL will also be hosting an Information Centre Open Day at the Public Forum, to run concurrently with the Sitting. The Sitting, convened by the Speaker and MPL’s, will be attended by among others the Gauteng Premier; MEC’s; community members and other government executives.
