ePetitions Launch
As you have previously covered the ePetitions online system in our media statement dated 25 March 2024 (attached), the Chairperson of the Petitions Standing Committee, Adv. Ezra Letsoalo, would like to extend a special invitation to you to attend the official launch event at the Gauteng Provincial Legislature Auditorium on Thursday, 28 March 2024, at 12:00 PM.
The launch event will primarily focus on informing the citizens of Gauteng and the key respondents to petitions, including the Speakers of various Metropolitan and District Municipalities of Gauteng, MECs of the Gauteng Provincial Government, Leader of provincial government business, Chairpersons of the GPL’s Committees, and other relevant stakeholders such as the Human Rights Commission and the Public Protector.
Attendees will gain insights into their pivotal role in the ePetitions workflow process and ensure a shared understanding of the ePetitions system. The event aims to provide respondents with guidance on effectively engaging with the online system, which requires ongoing feedback to petitioners from different responding departments or municipalities.
Moreover, the launch will offer petitioners the opportunity to learn how to submit a petition and understand the workflow process from the backend of the system. They will gain insights into how petitions progress through various departments until closure, marking the next phase of the online system’s implementation.
