In commemoration of World Blood Donor Day, Gauteng MEC for Health Dr Gwen Ramokgopa will on Thursday, 14 June 2018 give a gift of life by donating blood at the Beyers Naude Square in Johannesburg.
The donated blood is vital in accidents and for other emergency medical and surgical procedures.
According to the national Blood Transfusion Services, there are enormous benefits of donating blood for the donor such as improved cardiovascular health and the reduction of heart attack by 80%.
MEC Ramokgopa calls on members of the public to join her on the day and donate blood.
