Gauteng Government invites members of the public and media to K46 Phase 2 Open Tender Adjudication, 12 Oct

The Gauteng Provincial Government invites members of the public and the media to observe the K46 Phase 2 (William Nicol) Open Tender Adjudication to be held on Monday, 12 October 2015 at the Gauteng Legislature.

The aim of the Open Tender project is to promote transparency in government procurement processes through allowing the public to observe the process of the awards.

This is the second Open Tender Adjudication process that the Department of Roads and Transport has undertaken following the Cedar Road tender awarded in April.

The project includes the upgrading of William Nicol Drive (P79-1) from a single carriageway road to a dual carriageway. The upgrade is aimed at improving road user mobility through increased road capacity and provides improved access to Diepsloot, Fourways and Randburg areas.

The project, partly funded by both the developer Steyn City Development and the Gauteng Department Roads and Transport, includes upgrading of Rose Interchange as well as the upgrading of storm-water drainage systems and other relevant road infrastructure.
