Premier Panyaza Lesufi and MEC for Economic Development, Tasneem Motara will on Friday, 14 July 2023 host Ushuni Womnotho at George Goch, Johannesburg. Ushuni Womnotho is a Gauteng Provincial Government campaign aimed at bringing economic opportunities to residents in Townships, Informal Settlements, and Hostels (TISH) in Gauteng, and fostering economic growth and empowerment in these communities.
The 2023 winners of the Biz in a Box youth programme competition will be announced during this event. Biz in a Box youth programme is a partnership between the Gauteng Department of Economic Development (GDED) and Coca-Cola South Africa aimed at empowering young people in Gauteng with mobile business premises.
In 2022, five deserving young entrepreneurs were sponsored with mobile kitchens. There is an increase in the number of winners this year which highlights the continued success of this partnership.
