The handover of new libraries to communities continues with the next being the Venterpos (library) in Westoneria- west of Johannesburg on Tuesday 28 October 2014. This year alone the Gauteng Department of Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation has transferred more than 3 modular libraries to municipalities to operate.
Venterpos, a small mining town in the Westoneria Local Municipality was proclaimed in 1937. The new library will see the community being able to access this important service as part of improving the standard of living and education in Gauteng.
