Gauteng Finance MEC Mr Mandla Nkomfe will present the 2013 Medium Term Budget Policy Statement to the Gauteng Provincial Legislature on Thursday, 21 November 2013.
The Provincial Medium Term Budget Policy Statement (MTBPS) provides details on the Gauteng Provincial Government (GPG) medium term objectives and goals by describing the policy framework within which the GPG operates. It gives insights into immediate priorities and into those of the medium term – the next three years.
The MTBPS is an important step in the budget process because it provides the policy context and direction that will guide the tabling of the 2014/15 budget. The development of the MTBPS is initiated by GPG in line with principles of good governance so that the electorate can understand the priorities of their government and how their realisation will be financed.
