Freedom Park hosts career expo and exhibition, 7 Aug

Freedom Park in collaboration with Careers for a Powerful You and other stakeholders, host a career expo and an exhibition

Careers for a Powerful You (C4U), Freedom Park, top tertiary institutions, companies, prospective employers will tomorrow Friday 7 August 2015 embark on a Career expo. It is at this expo, where Freedom Park’s education, outreach, marketing and communication officers, will exhibit and educate the South African history, heritage and culture to the leaners who will be attending the career expo.

On a journey to facilitate the prospect of quality career decision making, Careers For A Powerful You takes the You Only Matriculate Once…Once (YOMOO) are expected to attend, from the following targeted schools for 2015

YOMOO Career Expo is a platform where grade 12 learners from various townships and rural areas in South Africa access resources, opportunities, and sound advice from professionals, to unlock their full potential and make informed decisions about their career path. The platform equips Grade 12 learners to transition from high school to tertiary as smooth as possible.

Our Grade 12 learners are encouraged to be proactive and search for solutions with regard to careers and challenges they currently face. “Our core focus is to encourage innovation, creativity and produce sustainable development within our economy and communities” says the COO of Careers for a Powerful You, Sedzani Netshitenzhe. We have identified the following as challenges that lie ahead for our learners: admissions, financial aid, earning extra income, opportunity identification, unemployment, how to start up a business, sound advice and questions about their future.
