The Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, North West Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Ngaka Modiri Molema District Municipality and the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) will celebrate World Food Day in Mahikeng, North West on 16 October 2013.
This year’s World Food Day theme is “Sustainable food systems for food security and nutrition”. The theme highlights the importance of healthy people who depend on healthy food systems. The complex network of activities that result in the production and exchange of food to feed a population is referred to as the food system.
