Employment and Labour embarks on “Taking Services to the People” campaign, 28 to 31 Aug

Department of Employment and Labour in Limpopo takes services to the people of Bochum

The Department of Employment and Labour in Limpopo Province will be embarking on its “Taking Services to the People” campaign from the 28 – 31 August 2023, in Bochum (Senwabarwana), Blouberg Local Municipality.

The four-day initiative aims to bring services closer to the vulnerable communities in remote areas where people have to travel long distances to access departmental services.

The Department will be offering a full basket of services inclusive of Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF) applications, claims assessment, processing of payments and resolving enquiries. The Compensation Fund (CF) will be assisting workers with applications, claims review and enquiries pertaining to occupational injuries and diseases. The Inspection and Enforcement Services (IES) will also be assisting workers with labour related enquiries.

In an effort to mitigate the high unemployment rate in the province, the department’s Public Employment Services (PES) will also be onsite to advocate PES services, and assist work seekers with registration on the Employment Services of South Africa (ESSA) database for possible placement in different forms of employment or learning opportunities.

Clients are encouraged to bring along the following documents when coming to apply for UIF: ID or passport, a complete UI-19 form, a UI-2.8 form, and a salary schedule. Work seekers are urged to bring along their Curriculum Vitae (CV’s) in order to be assisted.

The campaign will run as follows:
Date: 28 – 31 August 2023
Venue: Bochum (Senwabarwana) Magistrate Offices
Time: 07:30 – 16:00
