Economic Policy Dialogue to be addressed by Professor Ha-Joon Chang

The Department of Trade and Industry (the dti), will be hosting an Economic Policy Dialogue entitled “Historical perspective on trade and industrial policy to locate the theory and importance of manufacturing in economic development”. 

Date: Tuesday, 3 September 2013

Venue: the dti Campus, 77 Meintjies Street Sunnyside, Pretoria, Block D – (DG16 & DG20)

The Economic Policy Dialogue will be addressed by Professor Ha-Joon Chang from the University of Cambridge. Professor Chang is the world’s foremost heterodox economist and was recently voted the 3rd most influential economist in the Prospect World Thinkers 2013 poll.

The purpose of the dialogue is to stimulate intellectual discourse on contemporary economic issues pertaining to the South African economy.
