Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa will tomorrow, Friday, 28 November 2014, deliver the Ahmed Kathrada Annual Lecture at the Sci-Bono Discovery Centre in Newtown, Johannesburg.
This year's theme for the annual lecture to which Deputy President Ramaphosa is expected to address himself to is Nation Building: Beyond the Flag and the National Anthem. According to the Ahmed Kathrada Foundation, this year's lecture was chosen,” so that there can be greater thought and discussion around what nation building actually means''.
"There needs to be greater substance around the meaning of nation building, beyond the national anthem and the flag. While these are important symbols for any nation, more is needed. We need to build unity across divisions such as race, religion, culture and language, together with tackling problems such as inequality and poverty,” said the Ahmed Kathrada Foundation
As part of the programme, Business Day Editor, Songezo Zibi is expected to respond to Deputy President Ramaphosa's address.
