Water and Sanitation Deputy Ministers and Msinsi Holdings to lead community engagement geared towards women in water resource management

As part of the government's activities to celebrate Women’s Month, the Deputy Ministers for Water and Sanitation, Mr David Mahlobo and Ms Judith Tshabalala will lead a Women in Water Resource Management public engagement in Pietermaritzburg on Tuesday, 29 August 2023, to spell out interventions targeted at achieving women economic participation and job creation in the water sector.

The Deputy Ministers along with the Msinsi Holdings Board Members, will engage members of the Thokozani community and surrounds, on matters related to water conservation and interventions rolled out to address water scarcity concerns in the area.

The public engagement will be held in partnership with Msinsi Holdings, a subsidiary of the newly formed Umngeni-uThukela Water and will include a hand over a Canoe Trailer to the Thulani Mbanjwa Academy. The ceremony will also be attended by women co-operatives who have already benefited from Msinsi Holdings’ water resource management programme.

Part 2
Women in the Water Resources Management Programme
Venue: Bon Accorde Resort, Albert Falls
Time: 14:00- 17:00

Transport for the media will be provided, leaving the Playhouse at 08:00 am and Pietermaritzburg Council House at 09:30 am.
