Deputy Minister Thabethe takes the dti to Bulwer, KwaZulu-Natal

The Department of Trade and Industry (the dti), together with the Ingwe Local Municipality will host an outreach campaign at the Bulwer Community Hall, KwaZulu-Natal on Friday, 2 August 2013 from 9h00. The Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, Ms Elizabeth Thabethe will deliver a keynote address.

The outreach event seeks to strengthen government’s commitment to empowering rural and peri-urban communities to accelerate job creation and sustainable economic development in the country. The outreach also aims to create awareness about support products and services offered by the dti and its agencies to businesses.

“We are committed to ensuring that all sectors of the community including women and the youth are empowered with knowledge and support so that they can effectively participate in building and sustaining the economy of the province and the country as a whole,” says Thabethe.

The dti agencies which will be part of the campaign include Small Enterprise Development Agency (SEDA), Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC), and the dti’s incentives division.

The outreach also confirms and advances government’s commitment to working together with communities, and provincial and local spheres of government to better the lives of all South Africans.
