Deputy Minister Surty to award the Kha Ri Gude graduates in Rustenburg

The Deputy Minister of Basic Education Enver Surty will join the Kha Ri Gude graduation ceremony for the awarding of certificates to the class of 2013 this Friday, 25 October 2013 in Rustenburg, North West. The theme of the programme is “Advancing the Pledge to Educate the nation”.

The Kha Ri Gude Mass Literacy Campaign was launched in February 2008, with the intention of enabling 4,7 million adults above the age of 15 years to become literate and numerate in one of the eleven official languages.

The Campaign materials are designed to teach reading, writing and numeracy and integrate themes and lifeskills such as health, gender, the environment and civic education. These materials have been adapted for use in Braille in eleven languages, and for use by the deaf.

Some of the guest will include stakeholders from the partners of the programme, the Mayor of Rustenburg municipality Mr. Mpho Khunou and the MEC of Education in North West Ms M. Matsemela.
