Deputy Minister Stella Ndabeni-Abrahams to lead International Girls in ICT Day commemoration at Orbit Tvet College, Mankwe Campus

On Thursday, 3 May 2018, Deputy Minister of Telecommunications and Postal Services, Ms Stella Ndabeni-Abrahams will lead the commemoration of International Girls in ICT Day at Orbit TVET College, Mankwe Campus in the North West province.

The event aims to educate girls and young women between the ages 13 – 25 on the array of opportunities available in the ICT sector. The day’s proceedings will include the handing over of certificates to 25 young women who completed ICT training which was conducted by the department in collaboration with INTEL SA.

International Girls in ICT Day is an annual initiative supported by the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) Member States to create a global environment that empowers and encourages girls and young women to consider studies and careers in the ICT.
