Deputy Minister Sindisiwe Chikunga opens OR Tambo International Road Transport Indaba, 11 Oct

Deputy Minister of Transport, Ms Sindisiwe Chikunga will officially open the OR Tambo International Road Transport Indaba on Wednesday, 11 October 2017 at The Capital Hotel in Menlyn Maine in Pretoria, Gauteng.

The gathering which will take place from 10-13 October 2017 will be hosted by the agency of The Department of Transport, Cross-Border Road Transport Agency (C-BRTA) as part of this year’s October Transport Month (OTM) Campaign activities.

This Indaba, will focus on bringing together key industry players with a focus on unlocking Africa’s industrial potential through linking the African continent by means of integrating trade and transport to position the continent as a meaningful trading player in the global economic arena.

The C-BRTA will also be discussing the Linking Africa Plan, an initiative by the agency to enhance the performance of the regional transport system, thus enhancing intra-Africa trade and industrialization in the continent.

The Indaba is expected to draw the attendance of government officials, the academia and transport as well as trade experts from the African continent.
