Deputy Minister Sindisiwe Chikunga addresses Transport Forum, 1 Oct

The Deputy Minister of Transport, Ms. Sindisiwe Chikunga will deliver keynote address at the Transport Forum hosted by the University of Johannesburg on Thursday, 1st October 2015.

The Transport Forum forms part of the University of Johannesburg celebrations of October Transport month campaign which will  be officially launched by the Minister of Transport, Ms. Dipuo Peters and the Deputy Minister  Ms. Sindisiwe Chikunga on Saturday, 3rd October 2015 in Marite Bushbuckridge, Mpumalanga.

This year Transport Forum is held under the theme: “Trends in Policy Development for Transport.”

Transport Forum is held on a monthly basis with the exception of January. The aim of the forum is to get decision makers and other stakeholders in the transport sector to network. The Forum has been running for eight and a half years.

Transport Forum is the brain child of the arivia.kom which was acquired by the T-Systems South Africa (PTY) Ltd.

The Deputy Minister will also be part of the round table discussions during which she will be interacting with various representatives in the transport sector and the students regarding issues in the transport sector.

The Deputy Minister will be joined by the Head of Department of Transport and Supply Chain Management at the University of Johannesburg, Prof. Jackie Walters, Chief Executive Officer of Southern Africa Shippers Transport and Logistics Council (SASTaLC) Ms. Brenda Horne-Ferreira and other representatives from the government and transport industry.
