Deputy Minister Sibongiseni Dhlomo visits Stellenbosch Academy of Sport, 16 Feb

The Deputy Minister of Health, Dr Sibongiseni Dhlomo will tomorrow (Friday, 16 February) visit the Stellenbosch Academy of Sport as part of ongoing efforts by the Department of Health to mobilise private sector to use their health and wellness resources to benefit communities in which they operate to promote healthy lifestyle as part of government campaign to tackle the dangers of non-communicable obesity, an unhealthy diet and physical inactivity.

Stellenbosch Academy of Sport is one of the professional sports training and preparation centres in the country with indoor and outdoor training fields, gym, access to doctors, physiotherapists and biokineticists amongst other.

Deputy Minister Dhlomo has already mobilised a number of stakeholders including pharmaceutical companies to join hands with government to support the campaign meant to address non-communicable diseases like diabetes, obesity and hypertension.
