Deputy Minister in the Presidency, Obed Bapela will be re-visiting the Gugulethu Community Clinic in Gugulethu, Western Cape

Last year the Deputy Minister, Obed Bapela paid an unannounced visit to the Clinic. The situation and the conditions of the Clinic left much to be desired. Areas of concern were queue management, slow service delivery, adherence to the operating hours. Treatment of patients by staff members amongst other things.

Department of Performance and Evaluation subsequently did follow-up to do further assessments and monitoring. Improvement  plans were agree upon and to date, progress has been made in certain areas.

The Deputy Minister will be re-visiting the Clinic to verify those improvements and to speak to management on various issues of concern and to ascertain where further help is needed.
