Deputy Minister Nobuhle Nkabane leads Schools Outreach Programme and Career Expo in Nongoma, 23 Feb

DMRE to conduct the schools outreach programme and career expo in Nongoma, KZN 

The Deputy Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy, Dr. Nobuhle Nkabane will lead the Schools Outreach Programme (Ivuna High School) and Career Expo (Ivuna Community Hall) in Nongoma on Friday 23 February 2024. 

It is anticipated that at least 350 grade 10 to 12 learners pursuing the Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) subjects at Ivuna High School will participate in the outreach and career expo.

During the programme, learners will be exposed to various career and work opportunities available in the mining and energy sectors.  The programme is part of the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy’s (DMRE) drive to ensure that the mining and energy sectors have adequate supply of critical skills required to ensure sustainability. 

Deputy Minister Nkabane will be joined amongst others by the following Deputy Ministers; Ms Nomasonto Motaung – Deputy Minister in the Presidency, Ms Boitumelo Moloi – Employment and Labour, Ms Nomalungelo Gina – Trade, Industry and Competition, Ms Judith Tshabalala – Water and Sanitation and Ms Pinki Kekana – Deputy Minister in the Presidency.
