Home Affairs Deputy Minister, KZN Health MEC to welcome Christmas Day babies and promote early birth registration, at General Justice Gizenga Mpanza Hospital (Kwadukuza, ex-Stanger Hospital)

You are cordially invited to join the Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, Mr Njabulo Nzuza, and KwaZulu-Natal Health MEC, Ms Nomagugu Simelane, when they officially welcome the special babies born on Christmas Day, at KwaDukuza’s General Justice Gizenga Mpanza Hospital on Sunday, 25 December 2022.

The event forms part of Government’s efforts to create awareness around the early registration of birth where parents are encouraged to register babies within 30 days of birth at health facilities where they are born.

The Department of Health will link up virtually with King Edward, Queen Nandi, Newcastle, Port Shepstone and Manguzi Hospitals and welcome their Christmas Day babies.

MEC Simelane will also speak on, among other pertinent issues, the importance of adhering to scheduled antenatal clinic visits, the role that men need to play in the sexual reproductive health process and on the benefits of immunisation and exclusive breastfeeding where feasible.
