The Deputy Minister of Basic Education, Mr Enver Surty will attend the opening of the third Container Library sponsored by the AVBOB Foundation on Wednesday 24 July 2013.
The Container Library forms part of a three year contribution by the AVBOB Foundation to provide 30 (thirty) Mobile Libraries to rural and township schools across the country. The libraries, equipped with 2000 books, Reading Clubs and Spelling Bee competitions form part of a significant contribution by the Foundation towards the literacy intervention programme in the Department of Basic Education.
The partnership will benefit a total of 30 schools across the 9 provinces positively impacting on the lives of approximately 30 000 learners.
