Deputy Minister Fatima Chohan addresses Cape Town Programme on International Refugee Law, 18 Nov

Home Affairs Deputy Minister Fatima Chohan will deliver the keynote address at the launch of the Cape Town Programme on International Refugee Law, tomorrow, 18 November, at the University of Cape Town.

This programme that is initiated by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and the University of Cape Town (UCT) seeks to improve the protection of refugees and asylum seekers in southern Africa by fostering constructive dialogue between policymakers, academics and civil society.

The Inaugural Session will start at 9h15 with a welcome address by Ms Fatima Khan, Director Refugee Rights Unit, UCT, Prof Danie Visser, Deputy Vice Chancellor of UCT, Prof Evance Kalula, Internationalisation Perspective, UCT and Ms Clementine Nkweta Salami, Regional Representative for southern Africa, UNHCR.
