Deputy Minister Thabethe Takes the dti to Ixopo, KwaZulu-Natal
The Department of Trade and Industry (the dti), in partnership with the Ubuhlebezwe Local Municipality will host a “Taking the dti to the People” outreach campaign at the Fairview Community Hall, in Ixopo, KwaZulu-Natal on Wednesday, 5 March 2014 from 10h00. The Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, Ms Elizabeth Thabethe will deliver a keynote address.
The “Taking the dti to the People” campaign seeks to strengthen government’s commitment to empowering peri-urban communities to accelerate job creation and sustainable economic development in the country. The outreach also aims to create awareness about support products and services offered by the dti and its agencies to Small, Micro and Medium Enterprises (SMMEs).
The SMMEs from Ixopo and surrounding areas will get an opportunity to engage with Deputy Minister Thabethe and learn more about accessing services offered by the Small Enterprise Development Agency (SEDA), the National Empowerment Fund (NEF), the National Credit Regulator (NCR), Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC), and the Industrial Development Incentive Administration division (IDIAD) within the dti.
The outreach confirms and advances government’s commitment to work together with communities, and provincial and local spheres of government to better the lives of all South Africans.
