Members of the media are invited to join Deputy Minister for the Public Service and Administration, Ms Ayanda Dlodlo, when she gives 67 minutes for a good cause on Mandela Day, as observed across the globe annually on 18 July.
The Deputy Minister will be at an early childhood development care centre, the Canterbury Educare Centre in Delft, Cape Town accompanied by senior public service and administration officials. The team will participate in activities aligned with this year’s theme of cleaning and also surprise the centre with much needed winter accessories.
Founded in 1995, the Canterbury Educare Centre is a place of safety for the children and serves the poor community of Delft. Run by a principal and staff with the assistance of the parents' committee, the centre accommodates 86 children with 74 in pre-school and 12 in nursery.
