The Deputy Minister of Finance, Dr David Masondo, will undertake a District Development Model (DDM) working visit to the iLembe District Municipality on Thursday 27th May 2021.
The District Development Model is a integrated planning model for Cooperative Governance which seeks to be a integrated, district-based, service delivery approach aimed at fast-tracking service delivery and ensure that municipalities are adequately supported and resourced to carry out their mandate.
As the District Champion of the ILembe District Deputy Minister Masondo visit will include engagements with the leadership of the district and local municipalities on the state of ILembe municipalities, in respect of service delivery and Covid-19 interventions.
The role of District Champions is to assist the President and Deputy President to manage the implementation of the District Development Model, which has been set up to enhance the capacity and service delivery at local government level.
The Deputy Minister will also conduct a vaccination site walk about at the General Gizenga Memorial Hospital.
