Deputy Minister Buti Manamela launches First Things First Campaign in Limpopo, 26 Apr

The Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Training, Buti Manamela, will address students on the First Things First programme’s message, which emphasises the importance of every young South African’s health and the necessity of making one’s well-being a priority.

During the launch, HEAIDS stakeholders will administer and provide basic services such as HIV/ TB/ STI prevention, care and support including other general health and wellness services to students and staff.

The Deputy Minister will be addressing challenges around stigma and discrimination with the aim to:

  • Support the reduction of HIV/ TB/ STI infection rates
  • Strengthen the empowerment of young women and girls
  • Achieve greater social equality and cohesion
  • Transformation of the TVET College sector
