DPWI Deputy Minister Bernice Swarts hosts an Economic Empowerment Dialogue with women in construction
Public Works and Infrastructure Deputy Minister Bernice Swarts, MP, in celebration of International Woman’s day (IWD), will be hosting a dialogue with women in construction in a bid to boost their economic participation in the construction sector.
The IWD was first commemorated in 1911 to inspire women throughout the world.
Under the IWD 2023 theme: Embrace Equity, which talks about why equal opportunities are not enough, Deputy Minister Swarts will engage women within the built environment, with the aim of finding common ground on issues of empowerment and opportunities within the department.
The dialogue is expected to come up with tangible resolutions on how to speed up women economic empowerment in the Gauteng Province and to interrogate and discuss some of the key variables in driving the women economic empowerment agenda.
