The Department Environmental Affairs to host HRH Princess Astrid of Belgium on board SA Agulhas II

The Department Environmental Affairs will be hosting a high level Belgian economic mission presided over by HRH Princess Astrid of Belgium on board the SA Agulhas II in Cape Town. The Princess will be accompanied by representatives of HM The King of Belgium and a number of Belgian cabinet ministers.

The Princess and the delegation will tour the SA Agulhas II and also witness the signing of a Letter of Intent to enhance collaboration between the South African National Antarctic Programme (SANAP) and the International Polar Foundation (IPF). SANAP and IPF continue to work together in conducting scientific research aimed at increase understanding of the natural environment and life in the Antarctic and Southern Ocean through appropriate science and technology.
