Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs to hand over vehicles to the Mahlobo and Ogenyaneni Traditional Councils

The Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs will hand over two vehicles to Inkosi Mahlobo of Mahlobo Traditional Council and Inkosi Yende of Ogenyaneni Traditional Council. Izinkosi Mahlobo and Yende have recently been recognised and inaugurated as Traditional Leaders.

These vehicles are handed over by the department as part of the continued support to the Traditional Leadership Institutions in the province. This follows the department handing over vehicles to other 59 Traditional Councils.

The Mahlobo Royal Family and the Mahlobo Tribal Council will also celebrate their inaugural Ummemo/Cultural function. This will be the first cultural function by the Mahlobo Traditianal Council since the inauguration of Chief Mahlobo in February 2013.

The traditional function is held to interact with community members within the Traditional Authority and to keep them informed on development in their community. The function also serves as a platform to engage the community on their cultural values and practices.

This function will be attended by the MEC for Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs, Mr Simon Skhosana, members of Mpumalanga House of Traditional Leaders, Traditional Leaders from other Traditional Councils, Executive Mayors, Councillors and other guests.
