Denel launches book aimed at youth, 30 Jun

In celebrating South Africa’s National Youth Month 2015, Denel is opening up the world of science and high-technology in the defence industry to young audiences.

As a state-owned company Denel is delighted to help raise the next generation of scientists, innovators and industry leaders in our country.

This year’s theme, “Youth Moving South Africa Forward” implies an action-oriented approach that recognises the role that our younger generation can play to take the country to new heights.

It is for this reason that we are inviting you to the launch of a ground-breaking new book, titled “Defence Technology Made Easy.”

The purpose of this publication is to demystify the defence industry and the technology that drives it. It is targeted at learners between Grades 7 and 9, with the intention to open up the world of Science, Innovation and Technology within the defence sector. In addition, it will be a valuable resource to help them choose the right school subjects and acquaint them with the range of career opportunities within the defence and high-technology industries. This will enable them to become active participants in this industry – which is Science and Technology driven - thereby transforming South Africa’s economy.
