Correctional Services moving women’s agenda forward

As part of Public Service Women Management Week (PSWMW), female Correctional Officials, from across the country, will descend on Gauteng this week to celebrate Women’s Month under the theme “Commemorating the 60th Anniversary of the Women’s Charter and 20 years of Transformation in DCS: Moving Women’s Agenda Forward.”

The leadership of the department is expected to outline the road travelled from a male-dominated profession to a more gender equitable department of the Justice, Crime Prevention and Security Cluster. The department will also outline progress made in intensifying the implementation of transformation programmes including gender awareness, women recruitment, empowerment as well as retention.
