As part of the rehabilitation, and re-integration, programmes of the Department of Correctional Services, the KwaZulu-Natal region will host a dialogue between victims of rape and murder and offenders in a quest to reconcile the offended and the offender through the Victim-Offender Dialogue (VOD) programme.

The Victim-Offender Dialogue is a voluntary process, where the offender and victim are able to talk about the effects of the crime. Through the VOD programme, victims of crimes are brought to the centre of the correctional process by engaging with offenders and communities so that relationships can be restored and forgiveness sought.
