Correctional Services honours officials for long service

65 Correctional officials to be honoured for a combined total of more than 2 600 years of service

Between July 2012 and June 2014, sixty five (65) Correctional officials, who were appointed between July 1972 and June 1974, completed 40 years of continuous, uninterrupted service, which equates to a combined total of more than 2 600 years, or just under a million days, of service to the citizens of South Africa.

Through the Department of Correctional Services (DCS) 40 Years Long Service Awards, being held in the Western Cape on 6 November, the Eastern Cape on 13 November and the Free State on 20 November, DCS will acknowledge, celebrate and award these officials who have rendered dedicated service over the past four decades.
