Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs Minister Lechesa Tsenoli attends N’wamitwa Day celebrations

The Minister for Corporative Governance and Traditional Affairs, Mr. Lechesa Tsenoli, together with the provincial and national government representatives will attend the N’wamitwa Day celebration, an annual event hosted by the Valoyi Traditional Community at N’wamitwa near Tzaneen, Limpopo.

The N’wamitwa Day is normally held during the month of August to coincide with the country’s women’s month as a mark of appreciation for senior women traditional leaders.  This year marks the fifth anniversary of her royal highness hosi N’wamintwa II inauguration.

During this event, the N’wamitwa people also celebrate their culture and winning the Constitutional Court ruling that saw her royal highness hosi N’wamitwa II be instated as one of the women senior traditional leaders - a landmark case to breaking gender discrimination in traditional institutions.
