Constitution Hill in partnership with the Gauteng Department of Sports, Arts, Culture and Recreation and Gauteng Provincial Legislature, invites members of the media to an official launch of a campaign entitled my South Africa: Thand ‘umzansi to be held at the Constitution Hill on Monday October 7.
The my South Africa: Thand ‘umzansi campaign aims to raise awareness of the etiquette and protocol involved in handling the South African National symbols, instil civic pride and promote social cohesion.
The campaign encourages government, communities, schools, business and individuals to hoist the flag, read the preamble of the constitution and sing the National Anthem, every first Monday of the month.
And also as part of encouraging the citizens of their responsibilities, rights and obligations Gauteng Speakers’ Forum led by the Gauteng Provincial Legislature recently launched the ‘Citizens Responsibility Campaign’ (CRC). Gauteng Provincial Legislature supports the initiative by the Constitution Hill in partnership with the Department of Sports, Arts, Recreation and Culture and will be part of my South Africa: Thand ‘umzansi campaign.
The Speaker of the Gauteng Provincial Legislature Hon. Lindiwe Maseko will deliver a message of support to the campaign and Gauteng Premier Hon. Nomvula Mokonyane will deliver a keynote speech. Other speakers will include MEC for Sports, Arts, Culture & Recreation, Hon. Lebogang Maile and Constitutional Court Justice Froneman.
