Committee plans for next five years

The Portfolio Committee on Public Administration, Performance Monitoring and Evaluation will over the next three days (25 - 27 September) chart its oversight plan to ensure effective monitoring of government departments and state-owned entities reporting to it.

The Committee will engage with the Departments of Public Service and Administration (DPSA), Performance Monitoring and Evaluation (DPME), National Youth Development Agency (NYDA) as well as the Public Service Commission to ensure that it aligns it oversight role to the critical areas identified by those departments.

This session is important because the Committee has been tasked with oversight of critical area of government, which through the DPSA is to ensure an efficient government and through DPME the role of monitoring service delivery across government departments in efforts to ensure quality service delivery to the people.

The Committee will also engage the Office of the Auditor-General in order to ensure that the Committee is informed on its role in overseeing the prudent spending of the allocated budgets by the various institutions.
