Commission on Restitution of Land Rights conducts farm visits, 15 Mar

Government support to land reform farms bearing fruit

The Commission on Restitution of Land Rights will be conducted a visit to farms owned and managed by the Kwa-Maquza Communal Property Association (CPA) in the Sekhukhune District of the Limpopo Province. The farms were acquired for the community through the restitution programme and commercial cattle are currently bred on the restored farms.
In order to ensure sustainability of the restored land, the community was given a herd of cattle as part of government support for breeding, with an agreement that the total number of 41 cattle should be returned within a period of five years for the benefit of other land reform projects. The Community has been successful and the cattle were returned in a shorter period of three years.

During the visit, the management of the CPA executive committee will showcase their farming successes to government and other neighbouring CPA’s.
