COGTA to hold Mandela Day celebration in Nkomazi Local Munipality

In celebrating former President Nelson Mandela’s life and in response to a global call of action for people to dedicate 67 minutes of their time to service communities, the Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs will celebrate Nelson Mandela International Day on 19 July 2013 at Mbuzini  Community Hall in Nkomazi Local Municipality.

Deputy Minister of Higher Education Mduduzi Manana, MEC SPD Skhosana,  the Executive Mayor of Nkomazi Cllr Thuli Khoza, Cllr Zitha of ward 13 Mbuzini together with officials from the department and the municipality will renovate the Ndindindi, engage in a cleaning campaign, hand out food parcels and gravel roads in ward 25 and ward 26 in Bushbucjridge.

On this day other government services will be provided by the Department of Health, Home Affairs, Social Development, South African Police Services (SAPS), Department of Economic Development, Environment and Tourism (DEDET), South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) and Bushbuckridge Local Municipality to the communities. 

Deputy Minister Manana, MEC Skhosana and Executive Mayor Khoza will also engage in door-to-door campaign in ward 13.
