Basic Education hosts 2014 National Teaching Awards, 7 Mar

His Excellency, the Honourable President of the Republic of South Africa, Mr Jacob Zuma, flanked by Basic Education Minister Mrs. Angie Motshekga, will on Saturday, 7 March 2015 acknowledge and salute the selfless contribution of the country’s best teachers at the Gallagher Estate Conference Centre in Midrand, Gauteng. 

The 15th annual National Teaching Awards will recognize outstanding teaching across 18 categories including Excellence in Primary School Teaching, Excellence in Secondary School Teaching, Excellence in Grade R Teaching, Excellence in Teaching Science, Excellence in Teaching Mathematics as well as the Lifetime Achievement and Prof Kader Asmal Awards.

As an acknowledgement to the true heroes and heroines of our nation, the National Teaching Awards recognise excellence and the outstanding contributions of the selfless individuals that open the doors of knowledge to the nation’s future leaders,
