Arts and Culture and National Heritage Council of South Africa hosta National Summit on Resistance and Liberation Heritage, 27 to 30 Nov

The Department of Arts and Culture in conjunction with its entity, the National Heritage Council of South Africa (NHC), will be hosting a National Summit on Resistance and Liberation Heritage as follows:

Date: 27 – 30 November 2017
Time: 09:00
Venue: Saint George Hotel, Irene in Centurion, Pretoria

Day 1: The Arts and Culture Minister will officially open the Summit.

Day 2 & Day 3: Sessions are closed to the public and the media

Day 4: Ministerial roundtable of SADC Ministers who will take resolutions on the Summit will be open to Media from 09h00 to 11h00.

Members of the media are requested to apply for accreditation using the attached accreditation form and submit to Linda Shilakwe on email: l.shilakwe@nhc.org.za and Madimetja Moleba on madimetjam@dac.gov.za. Deadline for submission is Friday, 24 November 2017 at 10h00.

The Summit is aimed at reinvigorating the implementation of the Roads to Independence: Africa Liberation Heritage Programme (ALHP). It also aims to adopt a coordinated collaborative approach of preserving the slowly fading Resistance and Liberation Heritage of South Africa with its many SADC cross boundary traces.
